Dr. Kirsten Sjostrand, DO, is a physician at Essentia Health specializing in obstetrics and gynecology who joined Essentia Health in 2016.
Dr. Sjostrand earned a bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University in Texas. She received her medical degree from Des Moines University in Iowa. She then completed her residency training at Mercy Health Partners in Muskegon, MI. Prior to coming to Essentia, she served as an OBGYN in the US Air Force stationed in Mountain Home, ID.
Dr. Sjostrand is active in her local community and has given talks on health to church groups, day care centers, elementary and middle school classes. She has had the opportunity to serve her global community with multiple trips to Africa where she has enjoyed providing obstetric consults and specialized gynecologic surgery.
Dr. Sjostrand offers full-service obstetrics and gynecology. She has special interest in minimally invasive vaginal surgery, prolapse management, high risk OB care, and infertility. Dr. Sjostrand enjoys helping women meet their goals. She is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Sjostrand spends most of her free time joyfully participating in the lives of her husband and her three very busy boys.
