Theresa Weerts, MD

Dr. Theresa Weerts is a family medicine physician and clinic leader with Essentia Health. She joined Essentia in 2012. Dr. Weerts earned her medical degree from Loyola University in Chicago and completed residency at Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale, IL.

Dr. Weerts provides full scope family medicine care and enjoys seeing generations of family members. She believes her role as a family physician is to educate patients and collaborate with them to ensure treatments align with a patient's care goals.  

Outside of work, Dr. Weerts enjoys hiking and skiing with her husband and 3 children.
