Leah Heinen, PA⁠–⁠C

Leah Heinen, PA C, is a physician assistant who specializes in orthopedic spine care. She has worked in orthopedic surgery since 2013, and since 2019, she has been working in Essentia Health’s orthopedic surgery department. 

Leah first began her career in general orthopedics and enjoyed the variety of caring for patients in the clinic, hospital, and operating room. When she was invited to join the Spine Program, she discovered a new passion for helping people with back and neck problems. With encouragement from the spine team, she chose to focus her practice on spine care.

Leah’s goal is to help patients reduce or resolve their pain using safe and conservative treatments whenever possible. She works closely with each patient to understand their needs and help them return to the activities they enjoy.

Leah completed her master’s in physician assistant studies at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Leah describes herself as someone who wants to provide thoughtful, patient centered, and evidence based care, and at the end of the day, go home to her family. She looks forward to meeting new patients and supporting them on their path to better health.
