Brittany Almquist, PA⁠–⁠C

Brittany Almquist, PA-C, is a dedicated and compassionate physician assistant who joined Essentia Health after previously working here as a registered nurse. Her firsthand experience with the organization’s supportive culture, patient-centered care, and strong team-based approach inspired her to return as a provider. She believes Essentia Health was the ideal place to grow her career and make a meaningful impact on her patients’ lives.

Originally from a small town in North Dakota, Brittany pursued her education at the University of North Dakota, spending time in both Grand Forks and Fargo. There, she earned degrees in nursing and physician assistant studies. She and her family later relocated to Park Rapids, Minnesota, where she worked in the emergency department. Brittany and her family eventually returned to Fargo to be closer to loved ones.

Brittany began her medical career in emergency medicine but later transitioned to family practice. She is passionate about the importance of strong primary care in preventing illness and ensuring patients receive the follow-up care they need. Known for her calm and grounded presence, she has built trust with her patients through compassion, clarity, and a touch of humor. Her colleagues often describe her as laid-back yet sharp, with just the right amount of sass to keep things lighthearted.

Outside of work, Brittany enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and savoring the rare moments of quiet during nap time. Brittany is married and has a young daughter, who brings joy and laughter to her life. Family is central to her, and she cherishes spending time with them whenever possible.
