Essentia Health to offer walk-in sports physical blitzes in Detroit Lakes

To help student-athletes prepare for the 2025-26 sports season, Essentia Health will offer several walk-in sports physical blitzes in June and July.

Blitzes will be held at Essentia Health Urgent Care-Detroit Lakes, located at 1027 Washington Ave., on the following day and times:

• 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25
• 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 26
• 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9
• 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16

Sports physicals are required for children to compete in school sports and can help identify any health issues that might interfere with sports performance or increase the chances of injury. Getting a sports physical done early helps beat the rush before the school year begins.

In Minnesota, sports physicals completed on or after April 13 are good for three years. Forms are available online at mshsl.org.
