High School & College Athletic Trainers

If you’re a student-athlete, parent, or coach, Essentia Health is here to help you stay in the game—safely and confidently. We proudly support student-athletes with expert sports medicine care focused on health, safety, and performance.

Our certified athletic trainers provide more than 30,000 hours of patient care and 72,000 hours of sports medicine services each year, supporting athletes from the first practice through the final game of the season.

Comprehensive Care for Student Athletes

Essentia Health athletic trainers work closely with schools, coaches, families, and healthcare providers to deliver care before, during, and after practices and competitions. Our services may include:

• Injury prevention education and guidance to help athletes stay healthy
• Baseline and post-injury concussion testing
• On-site injury and concussion evaluations during practices and games
• Preventive treatments, such as taping and bracing
• Care coordination to ensure smooth communication between athletes, families, coaches, and medical providers
