CPE Training

Work with knowledgeable instructors who will supervise your ministry development at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota, or another approved site. Whether or not you’re ordained, the CPE program can help you build skills in:

• Personal integration – Developing behaviors and attitudes to engage in an authentic way with others
• Professionalism – Acting with skill and competence
• Spiritual formation – Helping others grow in their faith and faith expression

Inclusive Ministry

Accredited CPE Program

The CPE program at Essentia has prepared more than 400 people for professional chaplaincy work in health care settings, nursing homes, and parishes. Rest assured you’ll receive high-quality training because our program is an accredited member of the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE).
