You don’t have to be an Essentia patient to use this service. Sorry, we don’t take needles, syringes, lancets, thermometers, or medications from businesses. If you're not near an Essentia pharmacy, you can also follow these safe prescription drug disposal guidelines from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
When you start a new medication, make sure you have complete, accurate information about it so you can avoid potential problems. When you pick up a new medication, ask your Essentia pharmacist:
Ensure you’re getting the most from your prescription, over-the-counter, and vitamin treatments. Take advantage of medication management services at select clinic locations.
During this 30- to 60-minute visit with a pharmacist, you can:
Make an appointment for medication therapy management at an Essentia clinic near you.
To save you money, we’ll substitute a less expensive, Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved generic drug when possible. We make this substitution only if the drug is safely interchangeable with, and a therapeutic equal to the brand-name drug prescribed by your health care provider. Essentia Health pharmacies offer generic medications for as low as $5 a month.
If you object to a substitution, tell us when you order your medication or before you leave the pharmacy.
If you’d like to share a compliment, concern, or suggestion, please fill out our online compliments and complaints form.
Essentia Health has earned Digital Pharmacy accreditation through the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.
On the outside of the Essentia Health-Hibbing Clinic, you’ll see an entrance labeled pharmacy. Enter the first set of the double doors and go left. You’ll find free parking in our surface lot.
When your doctor or health care provider prescribes a medication, they’ll decide how many refills you can get. You can tell how many refills you have left by looking at your prescription label. After your refills run out or expire, you need to ask for a prescription renewal.
The process for requesting a refill or renewal is the same. In both cases, call your pharmacy. For a renewal, your pharmacist will contact your doctor or health care provider to get their approval. Please allow two to three business days for renewals.
Protect your health by maintaining a complete, accurate list of all medications you take, and sharing that list with your pharmacist, primary care provider, and specialists. When your care team has a complete picture of what medications you take, they can help you avoid harmful drug interactions. Your record should include:
Tell your doctor and pharmacist about your allergies to medications or foods. If you have a MyChart account, review and update your medication list.
For your safety and convenience, our pharmacy is offering curbside pick-up.
