Steven Johnson, APRN,CNP

Steven Johnson, APRN, CNP, is a family medicine provider who enjoys caring for people through all stages of life. He chose family medicine because it offers a wide, well rounded practice. Steven appreciates being able to support patients during both the challenges and the joyful moments that come with life.

Steven has a special interest in caring for underserved patients. During his time in urgent care, he often met people who sought care based on cost. As such, Steven works hard to create treatment plans that fit both the medical and financial needs of each patient.

Since joining Essentia Health in 2014, Steven has served in several roles. He began as a hospice nurse, later moved into oncology, and then completed advanced practice training. After working in urgent care, he transitioned into family medicine. Steven continues to choose Essentia Health because of the people—teams of providers who care about patients and support each other every day.

Patients will also find that Steven enjoys getting to know them on a personal level. He describes himself as a “foodie” and loves sharing great recipes along with good medical care.

Steven looks forward to building long-term relationships with individuals and families and helping each patient find a care plan that works best for their health and their life.
