Amy Cox, APRN,CNP, is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Essentia Health. She chose Essentia because of its strong reputation for compassionate, patient centered care and its supportive, team based approach. She values Essentia’s focus on whole person wellness and its commitment to serving the Fargo community.

With more than 28 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she has cared for patients of all ages and backgrounds. She has special interest in women’s health, veteran care, and pediatrics. She believes in taking time to listen, learning each patient’s story, and creating care plans that fit their unique needs.

Her roots in Fargo, North Dakota, run deep. Her children, father, siblings, and extended family all live in the area. Over the years, she has formed strong relationships with patients, colleagues, and community partners. These connections inspire her to continue offering high quality, compassionate care.

She became a Family Nurse Practitioner because she values long term relationships and enjoys helping people stay healthy throughout their lives. Her faith guides her daily work and reminds her that every person deserves respect, kindness, and thoughtful care.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading, and taking walks with her dog. She also loves spending time with her husband, who is a clinical therapist, as well as her son, daughter, son in law, and the rest of her family. She shares her home with both a dog and a cat, who add fun and energy to her days
