Alexis Hillmer, PA⁠–⁠C

Alexis Hillmer is a certified physician assistant who works in Internal Medicine at Essentia Health in Brainerd. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Humanities from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN, and later completed her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Medicine at the same school. During her studies, Alexis trained in different rural areas of Minnesota, including several Essentia Health clinics. Before becoming a physician assistant, she worked in nursing homes and a rural hospital, where she gained valuable experience and developed her passion for patient-focused care.

Alexis specializes in preventative medicine and managing chronic diseases. She helps patients improve their health through education, support, and proactive care. She is especially interested in diabetes care and is dedicated to providing compassionate treatment for both short-term and long-term health needs.

When she’s not working, Alexis enjoys hunting with her husband and their dog. She also likes baking, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
