Those who wish to apply for a Psychology Internship must follow the steps below:
- APPIC Application for Psychology Internship (APPI)
- Essentia program code: 256111
- Writing samples including an evaluation report and a diagnostic assessment with all identifying information altered or omitted
- Doctoral student in clinical or counseling psychology in a program accredited by the American Psychological Association or the Canadian Psychological Association, or in a program with similar academic goals and standards
- Approval for internship status by the graduate program training director
- Dissertation proposal approved
- 250 hours of intervention experience
- 100 hours of assessment experience
Matched interns must be eligible for employment at Essentia Health. Employees must be eligible to work in the United States, must complete criminal background and drug screenings, and must consent to flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.
Candidates selected for an interview will be notified via the email listed on the APPI. All interviews will include interviews with the Training Director and members of the Training Committee.

Accreditation
The PIPEH is not yet accredited. The program has submitted an Intent to Apply notification for accreditation through the American Psychological Association. Additional information regarding the acceptance or timelines related to the Intent to Apply will be added as it becomes available.
PIPEH is a Provisional Member of APPIC.
