Northwest Wisconsin Rural Opioid Response Planning Project

Objective

The purpose of the Northwest Wisconsin Rural Opioid Response Planning Project (NWROR Planning Project) is to create a plan to strengthen and expand the capacity of rural communities in Northwestern Wisconsin to engage individuals at high-risk for substance use disorders (SUD) and their families, specifically opioid use disorder (OUD) and stimulant (methamphetamine) use disorder (S/MUD); and to increase access to prevention, treatment, and recovery services. The project will address OUD and S/MUD in the context of the region’s culture regarding alcohol use. The project will strengthen community connections to support a hub and spoke model involving integrated teams in primary care and consultation with specialty care to support individuals and families in northwest Wisconsin.
