Shore Substance Use Recovery Court Cook County and Lake County

Objective

The purpose of the SURC Recovery Court Evaluation Project (Timeframe: 2016 October 2025) is to complete a process evaluation and best practice adherence evaluation of the two courts.

Objectives include:
Objective 1. Create detailed evaluation plan and revise based on feedback.
Objective 2. Obtain already existing data regarding Cook and Lake County Shore Substance Use Recovery Courts (Shore SURC) participants and participants in standard probation, interview Shore SURC staff and team, summarize results, review adherence to best practices, and vet the summary with staff and Shore SURC team.
Objective 3. Summarize already existing participant data and describe the relationship betweena) participants’ demographics, recidivism rates, and how recidivism rates vary by demographics; b) variation in recidivism rates between Shore SURC participants and standard probation participants. (quantitative and qualitative); and
Objective 4. Disseminate results of evaluation.
