Essentia Health St. Joseph’s-Brainerd Clinic welcomes Dr. Joseph McRaith, a doctor of osteopathic medicine

The Essentia Health St. Joseph’s-Brainerd Clinic is excited to welcome Dr. Joseph McRaith, a doctor of osteopathic medicine who will specialize in family medicine while also providing obstetrics care.

“I chose to join Essentia Health because it allowed me the opportunity to take care of patients in several different locations as well as different patient types,” Dr. McRaith said. “I always wanted to practice in a smaller-town clinic, and I wanted to be able to provide obstetrics care as well. Essentia is exactly what I imagined my practice would be when I first thought of going into the medical field.”

Dr. McRaith earned his medical degree from A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed his residency in family medicine at Rapid City Regional Hospital in South Dakota and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

“I learned through my own personal experience how vital family medicine can be to creating health care access in rural communities,” Dr. McRaith said. “This was what initially piqued my interest. I also really enjoyed my experience in residency performing deliveries for my pregnant patients. I am a clinician who thrives on variety to keep me energized through the day, and I have definitely found that in family medicine.”
