Essentia Health-Virginia is proud to announce that it has received a four-star hospital quality rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). This recognition highlights the hospital's ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients across the Iron Range.
The CMS Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating evaluates thousands of hospitals nationwide across key areas of performance, including patient safety, clinical outcomes, patient experience and timely and effective care. A four-star rating places Essentia Health-Virginia among the stronger-performing hospitals in the country, reflecting excellence in many of these critical measures.
“We are thrilled to receive this four-star recognition from CMS,” said Sam Stone, administrator of Essentia Health-Virginia. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our entire team of physicians, nurses and support staff who work tirelessly every day to provide exceptional care close to home. Our patients and their families deserve nothing less, and we will continue striving to improve and innovate in service to our community.”
This four-star rating underscores Essentia’s broader systemwide focus on quality and patient-centered care. Essentia remains committed to continuous improvement and investing in the health of the communities it is privileged to serve.
Essentia recently broke ground on a $13 million emergency department expansion at our Virginia hospital that will add additional patient care rooms, a dedicated behavioral health suite, state-of-the-art technology and other patient-care enhancements.
