Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center welcomes hospitalist Dr. Elena Jaffer

Dr. Elena Jaffer, a hospitalist, is thrilled to join Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center.

“I chose to work at Essentia because I’ve enjoyed working alongside a group of smart, motivated caregivers and wanted to continue my career in a setting I’m happy in,” said Dr. Jaffer. “My husband and I moved to Duluth from Washington for my family medicine residency three years ago, and we love it here. I can’t wait to continue exploring the region.”

Dr. Jaffer earned her medical degree from the University of Washington in Seattle. She completed her family medicine residency at the Duluth Family Medicine Residency Program and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

“Working directly with patients and their families is my favorite part of my job,” said Jaffer. “I’m looking forward to this next step in my career as a hospitalist.”
