Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center welcomes emergency medicine specialist Dr. Wade DeAustin

Dr. Wade DeAustin, an emergency medicine specialist, is thrilled to join Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center.

“I knew Duluth was where I wanted to end up for practice after doing two years of medical school here,” said Dr. DeAustin. “On top of that, I've heard great things about the emergency medicine group at Essentia, which is the cherry on top for me.”

Dr. DeAustin earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He completed his emergency medicine residency at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.   

“In emergency medicine, you get to help people from any background with any complaint,” said Dr. DeAustin. “The pace of the department keeps you on your toes and requires you to stay up to date on your knowledge. I will put my best foot forward for every patient and bring a good attitude to all my encounters.”
