Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center welcomes emergency medicine specialist Dr. Hayley Musial

Dr. Hayley Musial, an emergency medicine specialist, is proud to join Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center.

"I chose to practice emergency medicine because I started out as an EMT on my college emergency response team and found that the fast-paced nature of the specialty was very exciting," said Dr. Musial. "I then found deeper fulfillment in the realization that so much of our job requires taking care of marginalized and underserved populations."

Dr. Musial earned her medical degree from Florida International University in Miami. She completed her emergency medicine residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and her clinical ultrasound fellowship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

“Emergency medicine can be practiced in so many worlds — in the wilderness, out on the street, in the biggest city in the world, in space, a tiny town,” Dr. Musial said. “It is both a puzzle as one decides how to juggle a complicated and busy emergency department, but is also a daily window into humanity and a humbling lesson in practicing empathy and compassion.”
