Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center welcomes Dr. Jessie Wilcken to practice neonatology

Dr. Jessie Wilcken, a doctor of osteopathic medicine specializing in neonatology, is thrilled to join Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center.

“I'm thrilled to be a part of the care of families and babies in the Northland,” said Dr. Wilcken. “I'm from Minnesota and excited to be close to my family and friends and to explore the outdoor adventures that the Duluth area provides.”

Dr. Wilcken earned her degree from Kansas City University in Missouri. She completed her pediatrics residency and her neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

“I spent time in neonatal intensive care (NICU) as a premature baby with my twin brother,” said Dr. Wilcken. “My parents always talked about the profound impact that the NICU team had on them. I love the team dynamic in this department and getting to know families and helping them through one of their most vulnerable times.”
