Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center welcomes interventional cardiologist Dr. Igor Vaz

Dr. Igor Vaz, an interventional cardiologist, is thrilled to join Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center. 

“I chose to join Essentia because of its strong focus on patient-centered care and its mission to make a difference in the community,” said Dr. Vaz. “It’s a place where people work together and support one another to provide the best care possible.”

Dr. Vaz earned his medical degree from the Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Miami in Florida and fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

“Practicing cardiology allows me to build lasting relationships with patients, be involved in a broad range of clinical situations and through various stages of health and illness,” said Dr. Vaz. “I strive to create a safe, respectful and compassionate environment where patients feel heard and empowered in their health journey.”
