The Essentia Health-South University Clinic is excited to welcome Christina Norton, an advanced practice registered nurse and certified nurse practitioner who will practice sleep medicine.

"I chose to stay with Essentia Health due to its commitment to exceptional patient care, the supportive team-based culture and aligning with its mission to make a healthy difference in people's lives," said Norton, who has spent the last nine years working at Essentia Health St. Mary's-Detroit Lakes.

Norton received her education from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

"I chose sleep medicine because it is a growing field that not only offers opportunities to positively impact physical health, but mental, emotional, cognitive and behavioral health as well," explained Norton. "Poor sleep quality has been linked to the development of chronic disease, cognitive impairment, mental illness, increased risk of injury and loss of productivity. I can think of no better way to serve my patients than to assist them in achieving restful and restorative sleep with the aim of improving their overall health and well-being.”"

To schedule an appointment with Norton, please call (701) 364-8900. To see her full profile, visit EssentiaHealth.org and click on "Find a Doctor."
