Sophia Breitag joins Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic to practice obstetrics and gynecology

Sophia Breitag, an advanced practice registered nurse and certified nurse midwife, is excited to begin practicing obstetrics and gynecology at the Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic. 

“The midwives at Essentia are passionate supporters of the sexual and reproductive health of their patients and community,” said Breitag. “From the clinic to the birthing center, their emphasis on whole-person care and shared decision-making shines through. I’m eager to join this collaborative, dynamic team that values the midwifery model of care.”

Breitag received her education from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. She is certified by the American Midwifery Board.      

“I chose midwifery to build meaningful relationships with people, recognizing that the way we are cared for during vulnerable or intense moments has a lasting impact,” said Breitag. “I am passionate about co-creating welcoming, stigma-free spaces where patients feel truly heard and supported.”
