Shelly Neiman joins Essentia Health Urgent Care-Deerwood

Shelly Neiman, an advanced practice registered nurse and certified nurse practitioner, is excited to begin caring for patients at Essentia Health Urgent Care-Deerwood.

“I am thrilled to be joining Essentia and continuing my journey as a nurse practitioner in my hometown,” said Neiman. “With more than 20 years of experience in health care, I bring a unique blend of expertise and enthusiasm that will undoubtedly contribute to the success of this team in serving this wonderful community.”

Neiman received her education from the College of St. Scholastica. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

“My interest in being a health care provider stems from a story of kindness and compassion shown to my family after a tragic injury my great-grandfather suffered in a horse training incident,” said Neiman. “He received care for his injuries at St. Joseph’s in Brainerd in the early 1900s and even though he was from a poor family, the Benedictine Sisters who cared for him allowed his family to pay for his care with what they had – firewood, vegetables, eggs, milk and meat grown on their family farm. The compassion, kindness and empathy shown to my family had an intense impact on me and helped to fuel my passion and guide the care I provide to patients in my practice.”
