Essentia Health holding annual infant memorial service in Detroit Lakes

In remembrance of babies lost through miscarriage or stillbirth, Essentia Health will host an infant burial and memorial service on Sunday, May 3, in Detroit Lakes.

The public is invited to join this service at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, located at 515 US-59. Please take the first right after entering the cemetery and follow the road to the children's area. The service will be held rain or shine, and birthplace nurses will be in attendance. Attendees are welcome to bring flowers.

"Experiencing the loss of a baby is challenging and painful for any family," said Paige Perrine, birthplace supervisor and registered nurse at Essentia. "This event is dedicated to those who have faced this immense loss and provides a safe space for grieving. In addition to honoring the memory of their baby, we hope patients and families can connect with and find support from others in the community with similar experiences."
