Essentia Health hosting two grief-support events ahead of the holidays
November 26, 2024 By: Anthony Matt

As the holiday season approaches, Essentia Health is dedicated to supporting those who are grieving the loss of a loved one by hosting a series of grief-support events. These events aim to provide a compassionate space for individuals to share their experiences and find solace in a community setting.
The first event is the Hope for the Holidays Grief Support Group, which will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Hope for the Holidays is a time for those who have lost a loved one to come and receive support and resources as they cope with the challenges of the holidays.
The second event is the Tree of Life Ceremony Remembrance, which will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the cafeteria at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center. This gathering remembers the lives and legacies of loved ones through poems, scriptures, reading of names and the hanging of holiday ornaments.
Both events are free to attend, and refreshments will be provided. Participants can go to St. Joseph’s and use the main entrance at 523 N. Third St. and follow signs in the lobby that will guide them to the correct location.
We understand the holidays can be particularly challenging, and we are here to offer the necessary emotional support and resources.
Essentia Health’s grief support program helps people learn about bereavement, find hope, identify healthy ways of coping, process feelings and more. In addition to being able to join special groups throughout the year and meet with our specialists, you can also find several resources online to help navigate grief.
