Carlie Pletschett joins the Essentia Health-Fosston Clinic to practice family medicine

The Essentia Health-Fosston Clinic is excited to welcome Carlie Pletschett, an advanced practice registered nurse and certified nurse practitioner, who will practice family medicine.

"I wanted to work here because I completed the majority of my student clinical rotations in Fosston and I knew several of the providers," said Pletschett, who has been a registered nurse in the med-surg unit at Essentia Health-Fosston since 2021. "I wanted to continue to work for Essentia Health because of how welcoming the providers are and how they treated me as a student."

Growing up in neighboring Gully, Minnesota, Pletschett recalls going to the Fosston clinic for her health care.

"My family has always loved the Fosston clinic, and I have always enjoyed working in rural health care," she added.

Pletschett received her education from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

"I chose family medicine because I like caring for patients across their lifespan and watching them transition through different phases," said Pletschett. "I'm interested in rural family medicine because every day is different, and I enjoy the variety of patients I get to care for."
