Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center welcomes hospitalist Dr. Wamunyima Akakulu

Dr. Wamunyima Akakulu, a hospitalist, is thrilled to join Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center.

“I chose Essentia because its growth mindset and dedication to whole-person compassionate care were a great fit for me,” said Dr. Akakulu. “I want to help the most people possible and teach them how to take control of their health with healthy lifestyle choices.”

Dr. Akakulu earned his medical degree from the Universidad Adventista del Plata in Entre Rios, Argentina. He completed his internal medicine residency at Kettering Medical Center in Ohio and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

“With evidence-based medicine and your wishes as a guide, I promise to make the best decisions for your health goals,” said Dr. Akakulu.
