Essentia Health-Lakewalk Clinic welcomes family medicine specialist Dr. Austin Pickup

Dr. Austin Pickup, a family medicine specialist, is thrilled to join the Essentia Health-Lakewalk Clinic.

“I trained at the Duluth Family Medicine Residency Program and was consistently impressed by the quality of care Essentia provided,” said Dr. Pickup. “I also fell in love with Duluth: the people, the pace and the sense of community. My family and I are now deeply rooted here, and we couldn't imagine a better place to build our lives.”

Dr. Pickup earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.  

“I’m deeply committed to helping my patients solve their health problems,” said Dr. Pickup. “If something doesn’t make sense, I’ll dig into the research or connect with a specialist to find answers. I try to manage as much as I safely can within primary care, so my patients don’t have to navigate a maze of specialists and still receive high-quality, thoughtful care.”
