Essentia Health is excited to offer additional American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) courses to the community.

Upcoming offerings include Monday, Oct. 21, and Monday, Dec. 9, from 6-8 p.m.

Courses can be found online at EssentiaHealth.org and are listed as HeartCode BLS (Skills Session). Courses are designed to prepare participants to respond in an emergency by teaching them lifesaving skills.

These courses are offered in a blended-learning format, with participants completing a self-directed online module through the AHA followed by an in-person, hands-on skills session at Essentia with an AHA instructor.

The online module can be purchased directly from the AHA for $36. The in-person skills session costs $40 and will be held at the Essentia Health Support Services Center at 3314 33rd St. S. in Fargo.

HeartCode BLS is designed for health care professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-hospital and pre-hospital settings.

For businesses looking to update or expand their CPR preparedness, direct scheduling is available.

To inquire about scheduling for a larger group, registering for one of the above classes or general questions, please email [email protected].

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
