Essentia Health-West Duluth Clinic welcomes family medicine specialist Kristel Baltazar

Kristel Baltazar, an advanced practice registered nurse and certified nurse practitioner specializing in family medicine, is excited to join the Essentia Health-West Duluth Clinic.

“I chose Essentia because of the people I met along the way during training,” said Baltazar. “I appreciated everyone’s willingness to teach and how much they were willing to share their knowledge and skills on how to give the best care to the people in our community. I also felt the support each employee had with each other.” 

Baltazar received her education from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

“I chose family medicine because of the opportunity to take care of diverse patient populations with the hope of building long-term relationships with my patients,” said Baltazar. “I also chose this specialty because I am big on preventive care and a holistic approach. I like to consider the full context of the patient’s life, including their family dynamics, culture, social circumstances and personal preference when I take care of them.”
