Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center welcomes cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. James Miller

Dr. James Miller, a cardiothoracic surgeon, is thrilled to join Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center.
“I chose to join Essentia because of the close working relationship between the different services,” said Dr. Miller. “I believe that the best patient care and outcomes come from collegiality between specialties. I was also impressed with the positive impact Essentia has had in the communities it serves.”
Dr. Miller earned his medical degree from Jacobs School of Medicine in Buffalo, New York. He completed his integrated cardiothoracic residency and his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio.
“I was drawn to practice cardiothoracic surgery because of the potential to cure the two leading causes of death in the US – heart disease and cancers,” said Dr. Miller. “I’m excited to join the Duluth community and will strive to provide the best care to this region.”
