Essentia Health, Mid Dakota Clinic announce definitive agreement

Essentia Health and Mid Dakota Clinic are excited to announce that they have entered into a definitive agreement for Mid Dakota Clinic to join Essentia, which is currently planned to take effect Oct. 1.

Guided by its belief that everyone deserves access to expert, affordable and prompt health care, Essentia has a long history of successfully serving rural communities. Mid Dakota Clinic patients will continue to receive that level of care from the physicians they know and trust at their current locations. They also will have greater access to the wide range of specialists at Essentia Health.

Essentia’s impact involves more than providing high-quality, integrated care, says Dr. Bill Heegaard, president of Essentia’s West Market and an emergency medicine physician.

“Our mission of making a healthy difference in people’s lives extends beyond the walls of our facilities,” Dr. Heegaard said. “We support the communities we’re privileged to serve and immerse ourselves in them. Further, we’re honored to bring that same commitment to the Bismarck-Mandan area and carry on the rich legacy of Mid Dakota Clinic and its care teams.”

Essentia and Mid Dakota Clinic will work together to make this transition as seamless as possible for our patients and staff.
