Essentia Health is dedicated to supporting those who are grieving the loss of a loved one by hosting grief-support events. These events aim to provide a compassionate space for individuals to share their experiences and find solace in a community setting.

Starting in March, we will host three separate seven-week classes at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center. These are free to attend, and refreshments will be provided. Participants can access the St. Joseph’s lobby via the main entrance at 523 N. Third St. and follow signs that will guide them to the correct location.

The first class will run every Tuesday from March 4 through April 15; the second will run every Tuesday from July 15 through Aug. 26; and the third will run every Tuesday from Sept. 16 through Oct. 28. All classes are from 3:30-5 p.m.

Registration is not required for the classes. However, regular attendance is encouraged throughout the seven-week sessions to help create a safe and comfortable environment.

Essentia Health’s grief support program helps people learn about bereavement, find hope, identify healthy ways of coping and process feelings. In addition to joining special groups throughout the year and meeting with our specialists, you can also find several resources online to help navigate grief.
