It's estimated that more than six million adults in the United States are living with heart failure, that's according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That number is expected to jump to more than eight million by 2030. That’s why Essentia Health is holding a free heart failure symposium this month.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at the Nisswa Community Center, located at 25628 Main St. Patients with heart failure, along with their families and friends, are invited to this free event, which is sponsored by the Heltne Foundation.

RSVPs online or by calling (218) 828-7580.

Essentia Health’s heart failure program providers collaborate and communicate with the patient’s primary care provider. Patients can experience fewer hospitalizations and improved quality of life by participating in the program.

In Brainerd, the Marilyn Covey Heart and Vascular Center is located at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center. There, our cardiology teams work together to offer advanced heart and vascular care, as well as a 24/7 STEMI care center.
