The Essentia Health-Hayward Clinic is proud to be recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services for the care it provides to area children.
The Essentia Health-Hayward Clinic recently received the Wisconsin BigShot Award, which celebrates providers who are leading the way in protecting children’s health by ensuring pediatric patients are up to date on their routine childhood vaccinations.
The awards are based on 2023 immunization data collected by the Wisconsin Immunization Registry.
“We are dedicated to providing the best possible health care to people of all ages in the Hayward area,” said Julie Sindlinger, operations director at the Hayward clinic. “This recognition is a testament to the great lengths our providers go to ensure our youngest patients are protected from certain communicable diseases. We want them to stay healthy and avoid illnesses that may prohibit them from doing the things they enjoy.”
The Hayward clinic was recognized because 95% or more of its patients ages 2 or older have at least one dose of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine.
Vaccines are the best way to protect the health of children from things like measles, pertussis and many other viruses and bacterial illnesses that still exist and can, in some cases, become severe. Infants and young children are especially vulnerable to infections. That is why it is so important to get your children the vaccines they need.
If you’re unsure if your children’s vaccines are up to date, you can call your doctor or look up their records on the Wisconsin Immunization Registry. If you need to schedule a vaccination appointment, you can call the Essentia Health-Hayward Clinic at (715) 634-5505.
