Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic welcomes nephrology specialist Dr. Elyas Safar

Dr. Elyas Safar, a nephrology specialist, is thrilled to join the Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic.

"I chose to join Essentia because everyone in the nephrology department was so welcoming," said Dr. Safar. “I’m excited to care for the patients in this region.”

Dr. Safar earned his medical degree from the University of Aleppo in Syria. He completed his internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Icahn in New York and his nephrology fellowship at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.

“I enjoy the challenge of treating kidney disease and look forward to working with patients in underserved areas,” said Dr. Safar.
