Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic welcomes infectious disease specialist Dr. Geoffrey Welch

Dr. Geoffrey Welch, an infectious disease specialist, is thrilled to join the Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic.

“I was attracted to Essentia for the great strides it has made in reaching out across the rural region, and I absolutely fell in love with Duluth when I visited,” said Dr. Welch.

Dr. Welch earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas and his infectious disease fellowship at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

“In infectious disease, I get to meet people from all walks of life,” said Dr. Welch. “Many of my patients had previously not been able to access health care and I have the unique opportunity to make a serious impact in their life. I prioritize making sure every patient feels comfortable and is treated equitably.”
