Essentia Health-Deer River now performing MRIs

Essentia Health-Deer River is thrilled to begin offering local access to MRI exams. This is another step in Essentia's mission to bring care closer to home for the communities we are privileged to serve.

By adding this type of medical imaging in Deer River, it reduces transportation for our patients, who previously had to go to Essentia Health-Virginia to receive an MRI. “I take a lot of pride in being able to offer our patients the ability to receive the care they need without having to travel very far,” said Abe Latvala, a diagnostic imaging supervisor at Essentia. “By receiving your MRI at Essentia, you gain access to our entire network of specialists, who can work with you to establish cohesive and seamless care plans for your health care needs.”

Our Deer River locations offer several other types of imaging, including CT scans, ultrasound, mammography and radiography.

To receive an MRI in Deer River, please get a referral from your primary care provider. MRIs can be scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. General appointments can be made by calling (218) 246-8275, or through MyChart.
