Essentia Health partners with Virginia Fire Department to offer free car seat inspections 

Essentia Health and the Virginia Fire Department are teaming up to enhance child safety by providing free car seat inspections throughout 2026.

The inspections will be offered from 4-6 p.m. on the following dates:

• March 10

• April 14

• May 12 

• June 9 

• July 14 

• Aug. 11 

• Sept. 8 

• Oct. 13 

• Nov. 10 

They will be held at the Virginia Public Safety Building located at 1004 Second Ave. S.

The car seat inspections are intended to make it easier for parents and caregivers to have their child safety seats inspected by a certified passenger technician. The technician will inspect and assist with installing the seats.

The event is free and on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration is not required.
