Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic First Street welcomes family medicine specialist Dr. David Kunstman

Dr. David Kunstman, a family medicine specialist, is thrilled to join the Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic First Street. He will also serve as the associate chief medical information officer at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center.

“I was drawn to Essentia because of its mission to make a healthy difference in people’s lives and the opportunity to do that here in Duluth,” said Dr. Kunstman. “I value caring for people across all stages of life and building lasting relationships with them. I enjoy the mix of treating sudden illnesses, managing chronic conditions and focusing on prevention so patients can stay healthy and active.”

Dr. Kunstman earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where he also completed his family medicine residency. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

“I enjoy building relationships with my patients,” said Dr. Kunstman. “I take time to get to know them—their profession, family and what they do for fun. My ultimate goal is to help patients prevent or manage health issues so they can enjoy life. I also believe in modeling the way by staying active myself and encouraging others to do the same.”
