Essentia Health will offer sports physical and immunization blitzes to area students in preparation for the 2026-27 school year.

These blitzes will be held at the Essentia Health-Casselton Clinic, located at 5 Ninth Ave. N., on the following days and times:

  • 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on June 24, June 25, July 22 and July 23
  • 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on July 24

Vaccinations will also be available, and the clinics are open to all ages.

Sports physicals are required for children to compete in school sports and can help identify any health issues that might interfere with sports performance or increase the chances of injury. It is recommended that your child have their physical at least six weeks before their sports season begins so there is enough time to follow up on something if necessary.

North Dakota requires student-athletes to complete a sports physical before they can start a new sport (including any practices) or begin a new competitive season. A sports physical is valid for one year in North Dakota. Forms are available online at ndhsaa.com.

A sports physical can be completed on its own or as part of a well-child/teen visit. Well-child/teen visits are a great time to review your child’s health in all areas – growth, cognitive and social development, illness prevention, mental health and more.

Athletes are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Sports physicals are $57 if not using insurance. Students do not need to be Essentia patients.

Appointments are encouraged but not required. Please call (701) 347-4445 to schedule. Walk-ins are welcome.
