Essentia Health hosting annual health fair in Ada

Essentia Health is hosting its annual health fair in Ada next week. This multi-day community event runs from 7:30-9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, through Friday, Nov. 7, at the Essentia Health-Ada Clinic, located at 201 9th St. W.

Offerings include the following blood screenings, which are helpful in detecting prediabetes and diagnosing diabetes:

• Hemoglobin A1C
  • Provides picture of average blood sugar over past two to three months.
• Glucose
  • Tests blood-sugar levels.
• Lipid profile
  • Tests for good (HDL) and bad (LDL) cholesterol and triglycerides.

Screenings cost $25 (cash or check only), with proceeds benefiting the Essentia Health-Ada Foundation, founded as the Bridges Foundation in 2007. Fasting for eight hours prior to screening is encouraged for the best results.
