Essentia Health-32nd Avenue Clinic welcomes cardiac electrophysiologist Dr. Walter Atiga

The Essentia Health-32nd Avenue Clinicis excited to welcome cardiac electrophysiologist Dr. Walter Atiga.

"Essentia Health has a strong reputation for patient care and innovative treatments, and the cardiology team has a culture that fosters collaboration," said Dr. Atiga. "Fargo has a growing demand for highly specialized cardiac electrophysiology services, allowing me to expand the cardiac program in a meaningful way and make a significant impact in the community."

Dr. Atiga earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. He completed residencies at Loma Linda University Medical Center and the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Atiga also completed fellowships in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

"I have always had a fascination with the heart’s electrical system," explained Dr. Atiga. "The ability to diagnose and treat arrhythmias combines the intellectual challenge of understanding intricate mechanisms with the rewarding potential to restore normalcy to a patient’s life."
