Facility Overview
The Moose Lake Fitness Center offers members a great way to improve or maintain their fitness level. We are open with protocols designed to keep you and our staff safe. Our spacious facility features a variety of cardio and strength equipment, a free weight room, a classroom, a fitness room, large locker rooms, a bank of windows for natural light, wall-mounted televisions, and wireless audio capabilities.
Amenities
The Moose Lake Fitness Center offers the following amenities:
- 24/7 fitness center access with key card - For members
- Locker rooms – Includes lockers, showers, scale, blow dryers
- Daily lockers – Daily use lockers for members and visitors (padlocks are not provided and must be removed promptly after workout)

Services
Our staff is here to support you every step of the way. Whether you need help learning exercises, tracking your progress, or staying motivated, we’re happy to help. For extra encouragement, join one of our group fitness classes or work one-on-one with a personal trainer.
- Personal training - We offer one-time sessions to get you started or sign up for an ongoing program. We can help you find success in a healthy lifestyle. Cost of this service is $20 per half-hour or $40 per one-hour session and is available to both Fitness Center members and nonmembers. Call 218-485-5557 or 218-485-5582 for more information.
- Group fitness classes - We offer classes for a range of skill levels and anyone can sign up. Members can register for classes by calling the Fitness Center at 218-485-5557 or stopping in person. Here is an overview of our current class rates:
- 45 Minute Classes
- Per session: $5 member/$7 non-member per session + tax
- Class package (10 classes): $45 member/$65 non-member + tax
- 30 Minute Classes (for members and non-members)
- Per session: $4 + tax
- Class package (10 classes): $35 + tax

Class Descriptions
The Essentia Health-Moose Lake Fitness Center is here to help people of all ages and ability levels choose options that feel safe, supportive, and right for their health and wellness goals. Learn about our available fitness classes and what to expect from each.
30 Minute Total Body
A class that works every major muscle group. This class will work you from your shoulders to your calves, giving you a complete body workout in just 30 minutes.
Core N' More
Exactly what it sounds like – this class will focus primarily on your core, added with a few extra major muscle groups.
Functional Fitness Chair
A low impact chair workout – this class provides balance and strength exercises with the use of dumbbells, resistance bands, and your own body weight. Chairs are used for seated and standing exercises. This class is great for seniors, but all ages are welcome.
Group Strength
Are you looking for a class that is pure strength – focused exercises? This one is for you. Each class will choose major muscle groups to focus on, so every class will have different exercises; all equipment will be utilized. All fitness levels welcome!
H.I.I.T
A high-intensity interval training class that focuses on cardio and strength exercises. This class alternates between cardio and resistance-based movements, delivering an efficient, challenging, full body work out.
Intro to Weightlifting
A beginner class aimed to teach basic principles of weight training including exercise selection, equipment, safety, proper movement and technique, warmup, and cooldown. This is done through a progressive build that targets the whole body from compound lifts to accessory muscle training.
Low Impact
Low-impact workout that includes cardio, strengthening, and balance exercises. Mats and a variety of weights such as kettle bells, medicine balls, dumbbells, etc. are used throughout the 45 minutes.
Machine Orientation
Just what the name says – a class that is dedicated to go over how the stationary strength machines work and how to use them correctly to get the most out of the machine.
Soma Yoga
All skill levels are welcome. SomaYoga is gentle and therapeutic. You will learn relaxation techniques and classic asana poses while lengthening and strengthening your muscles. Additional benefits may include clarity of mind, increased range of motion, and an overall relaxed body. Available Props: mats, blocks, straps, and blankets.
Tabata
Looking for a class that improves cardiovascular endurance, builds strength and burns fat? Tabata is a high intensity interval training workout designed to maximize results in a short amount of time.
Women's Strength
Come join us for a class to learn the basics of strength training using free weights! Open to all women who are interested in building up the confidence to lift heavier in the gym. We will focus on increasing strength by implementing full body workouts at your own pace.
Yoga Flow
An all – levels class (beginner friendly!) that emphasizes deep breathing and gentle movement through a series of yoga poses. Focus will be on creating more body awareness, mobility, range of motion, and strength, with modifications offered so you can truly make the yoga practice your own.

Membership Freeze
Freeze your membership for 1 to 6 months. if you're unable to use it. If you wish to freeze your membership, please call 218-485-5557 or stop by in-person by the 20th of the month for it to take effect the next month. These changes are not available through email.

Reimbursement Programs
Many health insurance plans offer a fitness reimbursement program. Several companies provide a $20 incentive for working out in a facility eight to 12 times a month. Contact your health insurance company to see if you have this benefit. If you do, let us know when you sign up for membership as we will waive your registration fee. The Center participates in many programs.
