This one-night class is recommended before the birth of your baby. A certified Lactation Consultant will go over how to give your baby the best possible start with breastfeeding. We encourage your support person to also attend. There will be plenty of time during class to ask questions.
This class will cover:
- The benefits and management of exclusive breastfeeding.
- How to start breastfeeding within one hour of birth through the golden hours or skin to skin.
- Understanding when your baby is hungry and how to know they are getting enough to eat.
- The benefits of rooming-in.
- Highlights for your support person.
This is the registration for the in-person class. If you'd like to register for the virtual class, please return to the Classes & Events page, and click on the online option.
This one-night class is for expectant families interested in breastfeeding their babies. A certified Lactation Consultant offers information on how to get off to the best possible start with breastfeeding. Labor coaches are encouraged to attend. There will be plenty of time during class to ask questions.
Classes are held in-person but have a virtual option using Microsoft Teams.
The class will be in the Mission Conference room in the new hospital. Directions to the class will be sent 2 days prior to the class.
