Before you schedule a virtual video visit, you'll need a few things to get started.

You will be required to download Zoom. Save time by following this download process prior to your visit.

How to Schedule a Virtual Video Visit

You can schedule your virtual video visit one of the following ways:

• Call 1-844-663-1068 (Monday-Friday: 8am - 5pm) or find the phone number for your local clinic and ask to schedule a virtual video visit. The scheduler will guide you through the process.
• Schedule a primary care or pediatrics appointment virtual video visit by logging into MyChart.
• Message your provider via MyChart requesting a virtual video visit for specialty care.

Types of Virtual Video Visits

You can schedule a wide range of virtual video appointments including visits related to primary care, behavioral & mental health, substance abuse, orthopedics, obstetrics, physical therapy, heart & vascular and more.

Not all visits can be completed via virtual video visit. Items such as lab orders or other in-clinic follow-up may be excluded. During your virtual video visit, your provider may determine you should come in to be seen in person.

Virtual Well-Child Checks

Schedule your child's next well-child check as a virtual video visit. You and your child can talk with your child’s provider over secure video to review developmental milestones and discuss any health or developmental concerns.

If your child needs immunizations or other follow-up care, your child's provider will refer you to one of our immunization clinic locations for an in-clinic appointment. To support social distancing, please call or check-in virtually when you arrive for your appointment.

An immunization clinic is an Essentia clinic or location that has designated entrances, rooms, or appointment times specifically for well-child immunizations. Meaning you and your child will NOT be seen alongside patients getting care for illness.

Appointment Notifications

You will receive an email confirmation with instructions for your visit. You can also view your appointment details in MyChart as you would with any regular appointment.

Virtual Video Visits will be billed to your insurance and you may incur a balance due after insurance pays according to your benefits.

If during your virtual video visit your provider determines you should come in to be seen in person, you will be billed for the in person visit, not the virtual video visit.
