Essentia Health offers same-day care for a wide range of medical needs—no appointment needed. Your choice of care depends on where you live and the severity of your condition. We provide three levels of care within our same-day care—basic, intermediate, and advanced.
If you have severe or life-threatening symptoms, call 911 or seek emergency care.
Intermediate Care | Fill out a short questionnaire to receive a diagnosis and treatment plan by an Essentia provider on more than 20 conditions.

Intermediate Care | Access video visits with a medical professional for your urgent care needs anytime, anywhere through MyChart.
Intermediate Care | Essentia Health patients can get free medical advice from our registered nurses (RNs) any time of the day or night.

Basic Care | Schedule a wide range of virtual video appointments through MyChart. Virtual appointments are available for primary care, behavioral & mental health, substance abuse, orthopedics, obstetrics, physical therapy, heart & vascular and more.

Advanced Care | Get care for serious or life-threatening illnesses and injuries that require immediate attention. Care is provided by doctors and a team of medical professionals. This service is available 24/7 at Essentia Health hospitals.

Intermediate Care | Get care for illnesses and injuries that are not life-threatening but may need X-rays and/or lab tests that require a blood draw. Care is provided by doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. Hours vary by location.

Intermediate Care | Get care for sprains, strains, or broken bones (no bones sticking out of skin). Care is provided by doctors and physician assistants. This service is currently only offered in Duluth, MN.

Basic Care | We're providing safe in-person care for chronic condition management, general medical issues, preventative care, immunizations, a variety of surgeries, screenings, and other diagnostic tests.
