Rehabilitation (Inpatient)

Depend on the specialists at Essentia Health for comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services. Getting therapy as an inpatient can help you recover and reach your goals as quickly as possible.

What’s Inpatient Rehabilitation?

Inpatient rehabilitation means you’ll stay at an Essentia facility and receive rehabilitation services along with other medical services you need.

Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation

If you or a loved one had a stroke, traumatic injury, amputation, or other condition that requires intensive recovery, you may benefit from acute inpatient rehabilitation. You’ll receive comprehensive, multidisciplinary care that helps you recover and prepare for your return home. To be eligible for acute inpatient rehab, you must:

  • Need at least two forms of rehabilitation therapy
  • Be willing to participate in rehabilitation therapy
  • Have the potential to improve function or achieve independence

Subacute Inpatient Rehabilitation

Your doctor may recommend subacute inpatient rehabilitation following surgery or before or after acute inpatient rehabilitation. You’ll receive one or two hours of therapy most days of the week. Subacute care is often provided at skilled nursing facilities.
