LHSNet (The patient-centered network of learning health systems) is a 3-year project funded by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). LHSNet www.lhsnet.org will develop a research infrastructure aimed to transform patient care through comparative effectiveness research, pragmatic clinical trials and large-scale observational studies. The project will create a federated data system (part of PCORnet – national network of health care systems, health plans and patient groups). Through this project we will engage patients, providers, health plans and healthcare systems’ leaders in conducting studies that are patient-centered and relevant to health care delivery. LHSNet partners, led by Mayo Clinic, include Allina Health System, Arizona State University, Essentia Health, Intermountain Healthcare, Medica Research Institute, University of Michigan, Ohio State University, and Olmsted County Public Health. The research team at Essentia includes Irina Haller, Cathy McCarty, Wade Roseth (Patient Partner), Joe Bianco, Michael Mollerus, Amy Vanderscheuren, Christine Leone, Paul Hitz and Nathan Tesch.
